Homestay Program
Students need to be in a safe and welcoming environment.
Accommodation is one of the most important elements in making
your studies enjoyable.
We visit and approve all of our homestay families before
they can receive students. We take extra care in matching the
host family and student so that both will have a rewarding experience.
Our homestay families are friendly, kind, sensitive, and hospitable
people. They have been carefully screened and selected for safety,
practicality, and compatibility. Homestay families are
located in different parts of the city from North York to Scarborough
to downtown Toronto.
We encourage students to experience living with
Canadian families who love to help international students
by providing a home away from home. This is an excellent way
to learn the English language and understand Canadian culture.
Fees vary from family to family. The cost ranges
from $650 to $900 Cdn. There is a one time administration fee
of $75.
Transportation
Airport
pickup
We provide airport
pickup and drop-off at the cost of $75 each. We must be
notified of flight details two weeks prior to arrival
date.
Public
Transportation
Toronto has an excellent public transportation system. It is
safe, clean and efficient. You can purchase tickets, tokens
or a monthly pass ($110) for travel within Metropolitan Toronto.
You can purchase this at any subway station.
Climate and
Clothing
You will enjoy four distinct seasons. Spring
(April – June) is very pleasant, with temperatures from 10 C to 25C.
Summer (July – August) is hot and sometimes humid with temperatures
reaching to 30C. Fall (September – October) is sunny, but cool with
temperatures from 0C to 15 C. Winter (November – March) is snowy and
cold, with temperatures sometimes dropping to minus 20C. Canada is
famous for its great winter sports activities such as skiing,
snowboarding, sledding and skating. We suggest that you bring warm
coats, boots, mitts and scarves for the winter months, and jackets
and sweaters for spring and fall.
